Case Study: Rebuilding a Mission-Critical Platform for a Virtual College
Overview
Redesigned and rebuilt the primary digital platform for a virtual college serving eye-health professionals across Eastern, Central, and Southern Africa. The website is the college's core interface for programs, exams, conferences, and member engagement.
The Problem
The existing website was broken, outdated, and unmaintainable, with broken links and no clear structure for programs, exams, or events. Critical activities such as exam registration, conference marketing, and stakeholder communication were fragmented and largely dependent on newsletters, limiting reach, clarity, and credibility.
Without intervention, the organization risked ongoing communication breakdowns and erosion of trust for a well-established institution.
The Solution:
- Designed a clear information architecture to organize programs, exams, conferences, and resources.
- Created Figma mockups and implemented a custom WordPress theme using HTML/CSS.
- Integrated forms, events, downloads, galleries, SEO tools, and Google Analytics.
- Designed conversion-focused homepage sections linking directly to high-value actions (registrations, programs, external platforms).
- Optimized performance and ensured the platform was easy to update by non-technical teams.
The Outcome:
- Restored the website as a reliable, up-to-date communication and engagement platform.
- Enabled multiple internal teams (exams, conferences, projects) to publish content and campaigns within 24 hours.
- Improved usability, performance, and brand alignment.
- Designed conversion-focused homepage sections linking directly to high-value actions (registrations, programs, external platforms).
- Reduced reliance on newsletters as the primary communication channel and re-established the website as the organization’s central digital asset.

Case Study: Multi-Stakeholder Portal for Tracking National Export & Logistics Initiatives
Overview
Designed the UX framework and portal structure for a centralized platform enabling real-time tracking and coordination of development initiatives across Kenya's horticulture export ecosystem.
The Problem
Multiple organizations were running parallel initiatives across logistics, post-harvest handling, and export systems, with limited visibility, coordination, or shared structure. Existing information was fragmented across reports and documents, making it difficult for stakeholders to track progress, identify gaps, or align efforts.
The Solution:
- Designed the portal's information architecture to organize complex initiatives into clear, navigable categories.
- Created user-focused layouts that translated dense datasets and reports into structured, readable digital content.
- Defined a scalable framework for tracking completed, ongoing, and planned initiatives in one centralized system.
- Worked closely with stakeholders to validate requirements and refine usability and content flow.
The Outcome:
- Delivered a clear, scalable portal framework designed to support long-term use, coordination, and decision-making across multiple organizations—demonstrating the ability to design structured, high-usability web platforms for complex environments.
Key Skills Demonstrated:
- UX Design
- Information Architecture
- Web Platform Design
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Data-Driven Layouts
